Bovines smuggling bids foiled, 7 arrested

JAMMU, May 19: Nagrota, Sidhra and Jhajjar Kotli Police foiled bovines smuggling bids and arrested seven persons.
As per police sources, on specific information teams from Police Station Nagrota, Police Post Sidhra and Police Station Jhajjar Kotli laid nakas in their respective jurisdictions and intercepted six Kashmir bound vehicles.
During checking, police teams rescued 49 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested seven persons, who were identified as Irfan Ahmed Khatana of District Anantnag, Tofim Nissar of District Rajouri, Mukhtiar Hussain of Budhan District Reasi, Raj Ali of Jakhani District Udhampur, Beopary Sardar Ahmed of District Anantnag, Mohd Ashraf of Gran Morh District Reasi and Ashiq Ali of Zero Morh District Reasi.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Vikram Sharma, Incharge Police Post Sidhra SI Majid Hussain and SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Vikram Sharma foiled the bovines smuggling bids under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar.
