KATHUA, Sept 4: One person was killed after his Maruti was hit by a matador at village Dhanord on Lakhanpur Basholi road yesterday evening.
He has been identified as Shamim Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed of Ward No 13 Kathua.
Shamim was returning from Basholi in his Maruti car bearing number JK08, 9012 and while crossing a sharp curve at Dhanord his vehicle was hit by a matador bearing number JK08 9859 which was coming from opposite direction.
Shamim received serious injuries and he was rushed to GMC Jammu for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries late last night.
The driver of the matador managed to escape. The Lakhanpur Police has registered a case. The body of Shamim was handed over to his parents for last rites after postmortem today.
