General secretary, Bhartiya Kissan Sangh, Subash Dasgotra, addressing media persons at Jammu on Wednesday.

JAMMU, Sept 4:  Bhartiya Kissan Sangh has stated that all the Centrally sponsored schemes like National Food Security Mission, Rashtriya Vikas Yojana, National Mission on Horticulture Command, Command Area Development, etc are existing only on papers befooling the farmers of the State and having least impact on growers, as 40% of the allocation regarding these schemes remain unspent annually.
This was stated by Subash Dasgotra, general secretary Bhartiya Kissan Sangh (BKS) while  addressing a press conference here today. He said, “there is no interaction among the farmers and Agriculture and allied departments, as they do not want to aware the farmers about these schemes, as they want to favour some blued eyed farmers or to those who are not even farmers”.
He alleged that till this month (September), no funds were made available at district levels and the concerned sub-divisional agriculture and allied officers are without work enjoying their monthly salary.
The Sangh leaders appreciated the initiative taken by the Gujarat Chief Minister for organizing a Global Agri Summit in Gujarat by inviting farmers from all over the country. The speakers alleged that in our State only those farmers who are the favourites of the Government are being nominated for ATMA awards.
Kissan Sangh will oppose tooth and nail these persons at Gujarat meet and would expose them on the spot before the organizers, and in case of law and order problem, responsibility would lie on the J&K Government.
The Sangh also demanded a compensation of Rs 2000 per kanal for the farmers, whose crop damaged due to heavy rains in the recent past.
