JAMMU, May 20: A college student was killed after a dumper hit her near Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor here today.
As per police sources, a dumper bearing registration number JK02CR-8647 hit a student near GDC Akhnoor.
The students identified as Niharika Devi of Dori Dager Tehsil Akhnoor died on the spot. She was studying in 1st year in Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased has been handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
The dumper has been seized and its driver identified as Sahil Kumar of Nazla Chak Akhnoor is arrested.
However, a case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
