Alleging that several anti-youth decisions have been taken by the UT administration post August 5, 2019 and the ruling BJP is behaving as mute spectator, JKPCC demanded framing of time bound regularization policy for different categories of contractual, adhoc, consolidated daily wagers, casual workers, need base and other temporary employees working in different Government and semi Government institutions for years together on meagre wages.
Addressing a press conference at party office today, JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that proxy Government of BJP is totally insensitive to the plight of educated unemployed, semi employed and self employed youth. One after another order is issued by LG administration against the interests of the educated youth of J&K but the ruling BJP leaders have been watching helplessly the exploitation of our youth.
Reacting sharply over the latest order, JKPCC leader said that the decision of disengagement of NYC, REK, REZ, REJ etc appears to have been withheld following media reports due to fear of backlash from the youth but the Govt has taken several arbitrary decisions which are against the interest of local youth leading to large scale unemployment and frustration amongst the youth.
Former Minister and senior National Conference leader Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today criticized the anti-youth policies of the BJP Government and sought immediate rollback of the decision of re-advertising the posts the Rehbar-e-Khel (Physical Education), Rehbar-E-Janglat (Forest department), Rehbar-e-Zirat, National Youth Corps (NYC) schemes, in view of the candidates working against these slots for the past nearly five years.
“What an irony, those yearning for regularization are facing the ugly prospect of uncertain future despite having put in their best since their engagement or appointment and have overaged,” Sadhotra said in a statement.
He expressed solidarity with the incumbents working against these posts, saying they cannot fall victim to the whims and fancies of the BJP Government. While those engaged on daily rated, contractual and adhoc basis are also struggling for regularization over the years, the whopping number of educated unemployed are feeling perpetual sense of denial and despondency due to burgeoning unemployment problem, which has taken alarming proportions post pandemic times. He decried the ‘use and throw’ policy of the Government while referring to retrenchment of various category of which worked during difficult times and served the people.
Strongly condemning the govt move to dis-engage the services of NYCs, REKs, REZ, REJ who had been rendering their services in various Government Deptts for the last several years, Harsh Dev Singh former minister and senior AAP leader said that the present regime had not only snatched the livelihood of thousands of under-employed youth of J&K but had given the deadliest blow to their self esteem and honour as well.
Asserting that such a shabby treatment and the most contemptuous humiliation of youth was totally unacceptable, Singh called for withdrawal of the govt order dis-engaging the said youth. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today.
“The educated youth can’t be treated as disposables. This use and throw policy is highly unjustifiable and shall be fought tooth and nail. The services of thousands of youth who rendered services in other govt deptts as well have been terminated by the govt in the past with just one stroke of the pen. This is highly abominable and unacceptable,” Singh maintained.
Former minister and senior vice president of J&K People’s Conference Abdul Gani Vakil today condemned the ruling dispensation’s move of termination of the services of REJ,REK, REZ and NYC and referring these posts to SSRB as a malicious move to destroy the career of these youngsters.
In a press statement Vakil said that such arbitrary decisions are going to only distance youth from mainstream. Vakil appealed the Lt Governor to immediately roll back this order which appears to be absurd. Her said such tactics of the present Government delegitimizing the previous elected Governments. The BJP was testing the patience of the youth which may prove counterproductive for it in days to come.
National Democratic Party (J&K) has termed the decision of the proxy BJP Govt in J&K to disengage ReJ, ReK, ReZ and NYC as cruel joke with the educated youth of J&K. In a press statement a spokesman of the party said that BJP Govt wants to provide employment to the outsiders in J&K against the posts already held by the highly qualified J&K youth. This is deep rooted conspiracy against the J&K youth and therefore their services are being terminated on the mere false claims that in next fresh recruitment they will be given preference, which is nothing much than a white lie. In previous years many such lies of the BJP have been exposed. They warned the Government not to play with the fire and avoid taking such decisions which may prove counterproductive in coming days.
