Addressing a news conference in Srinagar, Hussain said, unlike other political parties that have exploited Kashmiris’ emotions for the last 70 years, their party’s purpose is to bring development to the region and foster Kashmiriyat.
He said that the party is concerned with the development and does not raise issues of religion or caste. “Our goal is to provide healthcare, roads, and better education, as we accomplished in Delhi. We want every youngster to acquire education and a better job,” he said.
The AAP leader said that under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, his party’s efforts in Delhi on health, education, women’s safety, transportation, roads, sewage, development projects, and unemployment have amazed everyone in the country. “The AAP party began in New Delhi and has now extended to Punjab and other regions of the country, with the people of Jammu and Kashmir enthusiastically supporting it,” he said.
He said that today, about 10 lakh jobs are available here and it is the right of people to get those jobs. “People in the region have a right to adequate transportation, but that lacks here.  People would not be able to find a government bus here after dusk. People here deserve improved transportation,” he added.
Hussain said that a world-class hospital should be built here and healthcare should be provided for free. In addition, he said, pensions should be provided to the elderly so that they can live with dignity .
He said that his party believes that Kashmir has a wealth of natural resources and that everyone should be employed here. He said that the Valley deserved free electricity because it produces it and has the ability to produce more. “We can establish more power plants here that will not only provide electricity for the rest of the country but also employment,” he said.
The AAP leader said that the party lowered Delhi’s electricity bills in half and even supplied 200 free units of electricity. “Approximately 49 lakh families in Delhi now have no bills. Kashmiris deserve the same benefits,” he said.
He said political parties have been seeking votes on emotions for the last 70 years, which is why there is a low voting rate here because people know they will not benefit even if they vote. “We are here for the common people and will provide whatever has not been provided to them in the last 70 years,” he claimed.
