Dabwal women suspend hunger strike

KATHUA, May 26: The women of village Dabwal protesting against the opening of wine shop in the village suspended the hunger strike after the visit of Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Rahul Pandey and SSP Kathua, RC Kotwal to the area.
After the three days continuous protest demonstration in front of wine shop ,the women started hunger strike to highlight their demand. When the DC Kathua and SSP Kathua came back after monitoring the arrangements for inauguration of Bio Tech Park  to be inaugurated by Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh on 28th May on the same route,  the women sat on the road and started peaceful protest.  The DC and SSP listened the grievances of women.  The women appealed them to shift the wine shop near Bio Tech park in Industrial area.
The Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey assured them to enquire the matter within days and find out a possible solution to the issue. The women suspended the hunger strike and warned the administration not to open the wine shop and play with peaceful life of innocent people.
