KATRA, May 27: An unidentified pilgrim of Mata Vaishno Devi was found dead under mysterious circumstance near Hathimatha, here today.
According to Police, the deceased was lying in an unconscious condition near Hathimatha. He was shifted to Sagar Suri Hospital where the Medical Officer on duty declared him as brought dead.
Identity of the deceased could not be established as no document or I-card, except some cash was recovered from his possession. Since the deceased was found dead under mysterious circumstances, inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC has been initiated in this regard at Police Station Bhawan. The body has been shifted to the hospital mortuary for identification and postmortem.
