JAMMU, May 29: Domana Police arrested a youth for raping a minor girl within 24 hours.
As per police sources, yesterday a complaint was lodged by a man with Police Station Domana stating that a youth identified as Anil Kumar, son of Parshotam Lal of Chak Bhalwal District Jammu has kidnapped and raped his minor daughter when she was going to school.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR Number 193/2022 under Sections 363, 376 and 342 IPC and 3/4 POCSO Act has been registered at Police Station Domana and hunt was lunched to nab the alleged rapist.
To arrest the accused, a team from Police Station Domana led by SHO Inspector Tilak Raj and assisted by PSI Danish Qaiser was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Sunil Singh.
The team connected various leads, put in hectic efforts and with the support of technical assistance and CCTV cameras footages finally arrested the accused person from Chak Bhalwal District Jammu.
During sustained questioning, he confessed his involvement in the case.
After completing all the legal formalities, the victim was handed over to her legal guardians.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
