41 bovines rescued in Rajouri, Poonch

JAMMU, May 31: The Police rescued 41 bovine animals in Poonch and Rajouri districts during past 24 hours.
Official sources said that 23 cattle were rescued by police teams from the clutches of bovine smuggler while foiling smuggling bids in Surankote area today.
On the directions of DySP Surankote Tanveer Jeelani, SHO Surankote Insp Niaz Ahmed, SI Sushant Singh and SI Arvinder Singh established nakas at Panar, Behramgalla and Bafliaz. During naka checking, the teams nabbed four bovine smugglers and seized four Tata Mobile vehicles bearing Registration Numbers JK11B- 9204, JK22B- 2614 , JK13E- 5344 & JK11B- 8040 which were on way towards Kashmir via Mughal Road.
Four FIRs vide Nos. 132, 133, 134 & 135 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA have been registered at Police Station Surankote and further investigation started.
Meanwhile, Kalakote police in Rajouri district during Naka in Odarni area intercepted two smugglers carrying 18 bovine animals on foot. On being challenged, they ran away leaving behind their cattle. The police rescued all the 18 cattle from their possession and launched manhunt for them. A case has been registered in this connection.
