UDHAMPUR, June 1: Continuing its drive against drug menace, Police today arrested two drug peddler and recovered narcotics substances from their possession.
One drug peddler was arrested at Domel Top in Chenani and 19 grams of contraband substance Heroin was recovered from his possession while in other success, 540 grams of Cannabis was seized from a Traller at Motorshed Naka Point in Chenani.
Reports said that during routine checking duty at Domel Top, Chenani NHW, Police party of PS Chenani, led by SHO, Insp Om Parkash under the supervision of Anwaar-ul-Haq, Addl SP Udhampur and SDPO Chenani Ahmed Shaafi noticed the movement of one suspicious person who was on way towards Chenani on foot. On frisking, 19 grams of Heroin like narcotic substance was recovered from his possession.
Police seized the narcotics and arrested the accused, who has been identified as Nasir Ali, son of Mohd Toufail of Chaskoo lower Kud. In this connection, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Chenani.
In another success, Police party, led by SHO Chenani intercepted Traller (JK03F-2311) during checking at Motorshed Nakapoint and recovered 540 grams of Cannabis like substance, which was packed in a plastic bag.
On questioning, driver of the truck disclosed his identity as Mohd Abdullah , son of Manzoor Ahmed Sofi, resident of Bijbehara, Anantnag, who was arrested on the spot. In this regard, a case FIR number 92/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in PS Chenani.
The drive was conducted under the supervision of SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar.
