KDA expresses reservation over peace march by Tibetan monk

KARGIL, June 1: Kargil Democratic Alliance has expressed its reservations over the purported peace march by a Tibetan origin monk from Leh to Kargil and apprehended that it would disrupt peace and communal harmony in Ladakh.
In a press statement, KDA said that timing of this `so-called Peace March’ assumes greater significance given the fact that people of Leh and Kargil are fighting for constitutional safeguards and Statehood under the unified leadership of the Alliance and Leh Apex Body.
“This kind of un-necessary provocation must stop as soon as possible. The responsibility for any such unwanted incident that results from the non-action of the Administration should squarely lie upon the Administration,” said the statement.
The KDA also appealed the people of Kargil to maintain peace and not to get provoked . “We want to clear this to the people of Ladakh that the said issue is under serious consideration of both KDA and LBA. Dialogue is the way forward for maintain the amicable relation that we have sustained for centuries in this valley,” reads the statement.
