Jammu , June 1 : Dr.M.L.Dogra former Regional Director ,Song and Drama Division , Ministry of Information and Broadcasting , Government of India, presently chairman Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, has been selected for “Creative Entrepreneur of the year by the “ICONS OF ASIA – CULTURAL 2022”, for his exceptional work & outstanding contribution in creative /traditional folk art.
Dogra’s services in this category were recognized on the basis of voluminous professional work in the reviving the traditional folk arts of whole of the mation with special reference to J&K region. Mr. Dogra has surpassed all parameters in this selection criteria and demonstrated in his outstanding qualities as an “Icon of Asia” delegate. Chief guest Lord Daljit Rana , MP , House of Lords UK, honoured Dogra alongwith other dignitaries.
Dogra’s untiring contribution in the field of Folk art and culture especially in folk theatre, musical Plays with innovation have been highly appreciated by ICONS OF ASIA in the global Empire events held at New Delhi. Dogra has been promoting and encouraging music and traditions for over 50 years .He has disseminated the art forms to different sections of the society being a social worker at present he is providing free music and computer education for poor backward class students, also running day care centre for senior citizens and music therapy for children affected with autism & spectrum Disorder besides awareness programmes on various burning themes of Government programmes and policies. Speaking on the occasion, V.K.Magotra recalled the contribution of Dogra for reviving the traditional folk /art of the region & wished him all the best for promotion of culture in future.
