JAMMU, June 1: A renovated library cum reading room in Ramakrishna Mission Cultural and Education Centre at Udheywala, Jammu was inaugurated today by Suresh Sharma, retired Session Judge and the President of Governing body of Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu.
According to Swami Yajnadharananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu a library had been functioning in the Ashrama campus for past some years but keeping in tune with modern trends, the facilities have been upgraded. Now the library can accommodate 171 students who mostly coming for self-studies while preparing for various competitive exams.
He said that now each student will be provided with a spacious work-station along with separate light and charging facility. The peaceful atmosphere, separate rooms for girls and distance from the disturbances in city make the library attractive for students. Besides, special sessions are organised to help students to learn tips for passing exams. Motivational speeches, Vivekananda Study Circle, meditation and service rendered in the Ashram are other things where students can develop their personalities and learn to become a useful member of the society at large.
The Ashram is also planning to start computer training and coaching for school students. Swamiji informed that along with some other people Sanjay Puri, Managing Director, P.B.I. India Ltd was instrumental in carrying out renovation at Ramakrishna Mission Cultural and Education Centre.
The programme was attended by Swami Sudhakarananda, Swami Kushalananda, Swami Sunishchalananda, BrahmachariAchintya Chaitanya, the Governing Body members of Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu and many other dignitaries.
