Media Art Association warns agitation

SRINAGAR, Sept 7: J&K Media Art Association has reiterated its demand regarding reactivation of Kashir Channel by starting commissioning of new programmes for private producers.
Since long the Association has been pleading before D D authorities Mandi House New Delhi but nothing positive has come out till date, it said in a statement issued here today.
The Association office bearers Pushkar Nath Pandita , K K Raina and Pran Nath Pandita warned to come to streets and hold demonstration at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi if authorities failed to do justice with the producers and artists of the State as the authorities at Mandi House have killed the very spirit for which the DD Kashir Channel was established.
They said that the authorities at Delhi were working against the spirit of the Kashir Channel and this will not be allowed to happen. They said thousands of people in the strife –torn State were dependent directly or indirectly with media art and they are at verge of starvation as no commissioning has been done for over two years by DDK.
They also alleged that Union Home Ministry was also sanctioning programmes for DD to its blue eyed producers while ignoring others which is totally an injustice with the artists of the State.
They demanded that commissioning of programmes for DD Jammu be also ordered.
