LEH, June 2: Under the guidance of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, NWR, Chandigarh, two seminars on TDS provisions were held here today by TDS Wing, Income Tax Office Srinagar.
The first seminar was held with Garrison Engineers, Leh in the presence of Chief Engineer, Brigadier Rajwant Singh, Leh Zone, MES; Col. Vivek Pandey, Addl. Chief Engineer, Leh Zone, MES and Lt. Col. Pushkar Kaushik, GE Independent Project-1, Leh.
Nearly 30 GE representatives were present on the occasion. Various TDS provisions were discussed which include correction filing of e-TDS Quarterly statement in form 24Q and 26Q.
Importance of allotment of AIN-Accounts Office Identification number was also discussed.
The second seminar was held in the office of District Superintending Engineer, PWD, Leh wherein about 28 DDOs/Accounts and dealing staff attended.
The DDOs were informed about the eligibility for claiming exemption U/S 10(26A). They were also informed about the applicability of TDS in case of contractors do not belong to Leh area.
The DDOs raised many queries and they were informed accordingly.
