JAMMU, June 2: Former MLC & JK UT spokesperson of BJP Girdhari Lal Raina has contested the information shared by the UT administration in a high level meeting, where the Union Home Secretary, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, reviewed the implementation of projects under the Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP)  in  J&K with the Chief Secretary and other senior secretaries of UT of J&K regarding construction of transit accommodation for employees recruited under PM’s Package.
Raina said that information shared was false, misleading and deceptive. “We are being told that “the CS expressed confidence that all the remaining tenements will be completed by 2023” Raina added.
Former MLC recalled that on March 9, Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, in a letter to a member in the Rajya Sabha said, “The work on 1488 units is at different stages of completion. The tenders have been finalised in respect of 2,744 units and tendering processes in respect of remaining units have also been initiated.” The Ministry data reveals, till February this year( 2022), construction of only 1,025 units had been partially or fully completed while work at more than 50% units was yet to start, he added.
Even CS in his briefing has said that “1324 tenements will be completed by December, 2022 and additional 672 tenements would be constructed by October next year.” How will work of remaining units be completed by 2023 when even the tendering process has not begun as yet, he asked?
