SRINAGAR, Sept 8: Police today claimed to have arrested five gamblers at Reeke Chowk in Batamaloo and recovered stake money of Rs 55,000 from them.
A police spokesman said Batamaloo police raided a gambling site at a public place in Reeke Chowk this afternoon.
Five gamblers, identified as Nazir Ahmad Matta of Natipora, Ali Mohammad of Reeke Chowk, Hilal Ahamd Matta of SDA Colony, Batamaloo, Nazir Ahmad Matta of SDA Colony and Manzoor Ahmad Phapoo of Natipora were arrested.
The spokesman said an FIR number 81/2013 was registered in this regard.
