2 attempts of bovine smuggling foiled, 19 animals rescued

REASI, June 4: Police today foiled two attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 19 animals besides arresting four smugglers.
Reports said that a team of Police Post Malikote, led by SHO Chassana, Parmod Singh, laid a surprise naka at Malikote area and intercepted two bovine smugglers, who were transporting 14 animals on foot without any valid permission. Police rescued all the animals and arrested the alleged smugglers, identified as Mohd Akram son of Mohd Younis of Tulli and Mumtaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Younis of Tulli, tehsil Chassana.
In this regards a case FIR number 30/2022, under section 188 IPC, has been registered at Police Station Chassana.
In another success, team of Police Check Post Dharmari, led by Insp Jeet Singh, laid a surprise naka at Sonchle Gali near Dharmari and intercepted a one Tata Mobile ( JK20A- 8937) in which five bovines were being smuggled.
Police rescued the bovines and arrested driver of the vehicle as well as his accomplice who were identified as Mohd Latief and his brother Mohd Altaf, sons of Mohd Ismail of Wani Morh Mahore. Police also seized the vehicle and registered a case in this regard at Police Station Arnas.
SSP Reasi Amit Gupta has issued special instructions to the District Police of leaving no stone unturned to eradicate the menace of bovine smuggling.
