JAMMU, June 5: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has issued show cause notice to the two senior Congress leaders, Ghulam Nabi Monga (Ex-MLC) and Viqar Rasool, former MLA Banihal with regard to their absence during `Sankalp Shivir’ at Patnitop on June 1 and 2.
Party sources said that action was taken by the party leadership against these two leaders, said to be the loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad on the directions of senior AICC leader and Incharge J&K affairs Rajni Patil, after a video went viral in which these two senior Congress leaders were seen attending a dinner, with alleged `remarks’ that they were attending similar `Sankalp Shivir’ at Srinagar.
Taking serious note of the viral video and the alleged remarks of parallel `Cong Shivir’ at Srinagar, the party leadership issued show cause notice to these leaders and sought reply within a week’s time.
The party sources, without taking names of some other senior party leaders who also stayed away from two-day ‘Patnitop Shivir,’ said though several other senior leaders from Jammu, Kathua, Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar and Kashmir did not attend Sankalp Shivir at Patnitop yet maintained that party leadership was contemplating to take action against them.
