Four theft cases solved, stolen jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh recovered

JAMMU, June 6: Gangyal Police today claimed to have solved four theft cases by arresting two thieves and recovering stolen jewellery worth Rs 10.40 lakh on their disclosure.
Acting on a written complaint lodged at Police Station Gangyal by a person namely Suresh Kumar son of Darshan Kumar, resident of Sehora (Bishnah, Jammu) regarding theft, a case FIR number 60/2022 U/S 454/380/IPC was registered at Police Station Gangyal and special teams of Police Station Gangyal under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma were constituted to crack the case.
During investigation, the police team led by SHO Police Station Gangyal Inspector Joginder Singh Chib did strenuous efforts and after connecting various links, rounded up two suspects identified as Ayoub Ahmed son of late Shamas Din, resident of Koti Chandyar (Bani, Kathua) and Shah Nawaz son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Chalog (Bani, Kathua).
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed their involvement in the theft case. They also confessed their involvement in three other cases– FIR number 37/21 U/S 457/380/IPC, FIR number 03/22 U/S 457/380/IPC and FIR number 39/22 U/S 454/380/IPC of PS Gangyal. On the disclosure of the accused, stolen jewellery items including 2 ear rings, 1 silver silver, 1 katori chain, 2 golden kadas, 2 golden necklaces, 1 golden nath, 2 pairs of golden jhumke, 3 golden ladies rings, 1 golden kada, 1 pair of golden ear ring, 1 golden tika, 1 golden ladies ring, 1 gents ring and 1 golden necklace were recovered.
Moreover, two motorcycles without registration numbers were also recovered from the accused.
The whole operation was done under the supervision of SP South Mamta Sharma. Further investigation of the case was going on.
