UDHAMPUR, June 7: Up in arms against heavy curtailment in electricity supply, a protest dharna was organized by the senior Congress leader Sumeet Magotra at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park Dabbar Chowk Udhampur.
A number of senior Congress leaders and workers took part in the protest dharna. Congress activists raised slogans against LG administration as well as the District Administration of Udhampur.
In this occasion, speakers said that people of Udhampur District were facing difficulties due to the heavy curtailments of electricity in this hot summer without any prior information to the public in general.
Summet Magotra charged the UT administration with failure on all fronts. “Due to the heavy curtailment of electricity, supply of drinking water is also getting affected,” he said and warned the authorities concerned that if within three days heavy curtailment of electricity is not stopped Congress would launch hunger strikes across the district.
