Srinagar, Jun 7: Police today said to have seized a vehicle in Handwara for illegal extraction and transport action of minerals.
A police party of Police Station Qalamabad along with officials from the Geology and Mining Department have seized a vehicle (tipper) for involvement in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Govt land at Qalamabad, police said.
Accordingly, legal action under the provisions of the MMDR (Mines & Minerals Development and Regulation) Act has been registered in this regard, and an investigation has been initiated.
