JAMMU, June 9: Lagan Society for Art and Culture in collaboration with Saraswati Swar Sadhna Sangeetalya, Samba organized a ‘Sangeet Sandhya’ today.
Chander Mohan Gupta (Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation) was the chief guest on the occasion while Brahamjyot Satti (State president, OBC Morcha, BJP) was the guest of honour. Raj Kumar Tarkhan (Chairman, Public Health & Sanitation, JMC) presided over the function whereas Ajit Pal Sharma (chairman, New Sargam Club, Samba) and Manju Bala (renowned singer) were the special guests.
The Sangeet Sandhya was inaugurated with the lightening of traditional lamp by the dignitaries followed by welcome address Ravi Dutta (Principal, Saraswati Swar Sadhna Sangeetalya, Samba). Later, the function was started with Saraswati Vandana sung by the students of the Society followed by various Raags and songs performed by the talented students of the Society.
Speaking on the occasion, Chander Mohan Gupta said these types of functions helps to encourage the youngsters and also helps to promote the rich cultural heritage of the region whereas Brahamjyot Satti said that Music is not only an activity but also a worship of god and helps to develop overall personality of the human.
Those participated in the function were Hriday Sonar, Aryaveer Singh, Aariya Amba, Jeetika Verma, Takshi Khajuria, Trishika Sambyal, Tavisha Sambyal, Pranav Khajuria, Ansh Verma, Harshvardan Sharma and Anjali Sharma. Ravi Dutta was on the Harmonium, Kunal Khatri on Tabla and Yudhishthar Kumar Sharma was on Dholak. The proceeding of the Sangeet Sandhya was conducted by Rohit Bains.
