Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 5 arrested

JAMMU, June 9: Jhajjar Kotli Police foiled bovines smuggling bid and arrested five persons.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma apprehended five persons and rescued 25 bovine animals from their possession, which they were smuggling to Kashmir by foot.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohd Younis of Nandini Satwari, Kaku Khan of Mandal Satwari Jammu, Shabir Khan of Tehsil Dansal District Jammu, Mohd Ashiq Ali of District Udhampur and Mohd Mirza of Phallain Mandal Satwari. One motorcycle used for rekki purpose has been seized and one person fled away from the spot by taking the advantage of darkness.
A case under FIR Number 139/2022 under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
