UDHAMPUR, June 11: In an apparent case of suicide, a youth was found hanging from a tree near Tawi river in Chenani, here today.
According to the reports, Govind Singh (27), son of Shakti Singh, resident of Bain, Tehsil Chenani, was found hanging from a tree near bank of Tawi river at Bain in Chenani under mysterious circumstances.
Some local people saw him hanging and immediately called the Police following which SHO Chenani Om Parkash rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to Sub District Hospital Chenani for the postmortem and other legal formalities. A case has been registered in this connection for further investigation.
Meanwhile, a couple was injured when a Maruti car rolled down into a deep gorge at Barkunda road in Chenani.
The Maruti car, bearing registration numbers JK14H-5113, was on its way from Mantalai to Chhatredi, Barkunda when it slipped into Dugga Nullah about 100 ft deep. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to Chenani Hospital.
The injured were identified as Atul Bharti, son of Shanker Dass, resident of Chhatredi Bupp and his wife Nisha Devi.
