Bovines smuggling bids foiled, 5 arrested

JAMMU, June 11: Jhajjar Kotli and Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids and arrested five persons.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Sharma laid a naka at Suketar and intercepted a Kashmir bound truck bearing registration number JK02AD-1443.
During checking, police team rescued 9 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who were identified as Buta Ram, son of Dewan Chand of RS Pura District Jammu and Aroof Ahmed Gojree, son of Noor ud Din Gojree of Iqbal Colony District Baramulla.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota apprehended three persons and rescued 5 bovine animals.
The arrested persons were identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Noor Din, Kala, son of Jamal Din and Khursheed Alam, son of Mohd Sharif, all residents of Belicharana, District Jammu.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Jhajjar Kotli and Nagrota and investigation started.
