RAJOURI, June 11: Police foiled an attempt of narcotics smuggling and recovered a consignment of 81 Kilograms of poppy straw from a truck on national highway, here today.
Reports said that a Police team, headed by Incharge Police Post Chingus Chatyar, PSI Sahil Chowdhary, was on routine vehicle checking at Kallar Naka when a truck (PB10 HT- 3747) was intercepted.
During checking, three bags containing 81 Kilograms of poppy straw was found from the vehicle which were seized on the spot and accused driver namely Sajid Iqbal, son of Zaffar Iqbal, resident of Ward number 6, Galhuta Poonch was arrested
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in this connection at Police station Rajouri and further investigation is going on.
