KATRA, June 12: With the arrest of thief and recovery of stolen items, Police has solved the theft case that had taken place recently at Adhkuwari when belongings of a female pilgrim were stolen.
A case FIR number 09/2022, under section 379 IPC was registered in this connection at Police Station Bhawan after getting complaint from the victim namely Anubha Sikchi, wife of Deepak Sikchi, resident of 1/5 Pratap Nagar, Tehsil Beawar, District Ajmer,
Multiple teams of Police Post Adhkuwari, led by Incharge PP, SI Amit Singh and SHO Bhawan, Suman Sharma were constituted to work out the theft case. Police scanned CCTV footage in the area and rounded up a number suspects. During questioning, one of the suspects admitted to have committed the theft. He was identified as Karan Sharma alias Kanu, son of Rattan Lal of Serward, Akhli Bhutan, Tehsil Katra.
On his disclosure, the stolen items, including one Apple mobile phone (13 Pro Max) of approx worth Rs 1.4 lakh , two Gold rings, one Bichi set and cash of Rs 40,000 were recovered.
During further investigation, 13 more mobile phones worth rupees 1.2 lakh were also recovered from possession of the accused person.
While sharing the details, SSP Reasi, Amit Gupta said that further investigations were going on to unearth the arrested persons’ linkages with other theft cases in district Reasi and more arrests and recoveries were not ruled out in the case.
