SRINAGAR, June 13: Move Beyond- a Career Counselling School today signed an MoU with Private Schools’ Association Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar.
The MoU was signed in presence of the Director, NIT Srinagar Prof Rakesh Sehgal, Institute’s Registrar Prof Syed Kaiser Bukhari, Head IIEDC, Dr Saad Parvez, President Private Schools’ Association J&K (PSAJK), GN Var, Dr Muslim Jan and other dignitaries.
The aim of MoU is to further develop the career ecosystem of J&K. It will provide specialized services to students like career counseling, career planning, mentoring, admission guidance throughout the world, global scholarship assistance, psychometric testing services, etc.
On the occasion, Director NIT Srinagar Professor Rakesh Sehgal said there is a need to reach out to students in far-flung areas and we need to guide them on right track. He said that Move Beyond’s career model has also been appreciated and approved by LG Manoj Sinha during his visit to NIT Srinagar last year. “We need to reach out to students in J&K for better career guidance, and planning,” he said.
Registrar NIT Srinagar, Prof Syed Kaiser Bukhari said the signing of this MoU will bring two major intuitions of society closer to serving society. “PSAJK has a wider domain in our society and this collaboration will help in bridging the gap between students and their careers,” he said.
Regarding MoU, President PSAJK GN Var said that the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has given immense importance to the need for career counseling and guidance.
Dr. Saad Parvez said that the Innovation centre of NIT Srinagar is always ready to support innovative ideas like Move Beyond which are highly instrumental in bringing a change in society at large.
Founder and Director of Move Beyond, Sheikh Inayat Ullah, in his introductory remarks, mentioned the need for career counseling and timely career guidance to the students. He said the innovative model of Move Beyond is to tackle unemployment in the UT of J&K by providing guidance and career counseling to students for their career progress. Dr Muslim Jan, Senior Consultant to Move Beyond presented a vote of thank.
