Kabir Jayanti celebrated with religious fervour in J&K

JAMMU, June 14: Sant Kabir Jayanti was celebrated with enthusiasm and religious fervour across the region today.
To mark the day, various functions were organized especially in Jammu region and special prayers were held at the temples of Sant Kabir Ji. People also arranged `Shabeels’ and held community langars at various places.
Former minister and vice president J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Mula Ram and others paid rich tribute to Saint Kabir Ji during a function at Jhiri in Marh Sub Division today.
During a function held at Kabir Mandir on his birth anniversary, Mula Ram accompanied by others paid floral tribute and recalled the teachings of this great Saint. He said the path shown by Sant Kabir Ji will continue to inspire generations to move ahead with brotherhood. Saint Kabir was a 15th century poet and saint, whose writings influenced the Bhakti movement in India. His verses are also found in all religions, he added.
Mula Ram in his message to all said that Kabir Dass Ji taught the lesson of equality, communal harmony and love to the society. He maintained that Sant Kabir advised his followers to give up inhuman practice like feelings of upper and low categories. In last he said we all have to follow only one religion and that is humanity and brotherhood.
Others who attended the function included Kuldeep Raj Bhagat chairman BDC Kot Bhalwal, Surinder Bhagat BDC chairman Marh, Kunti Devi working president Kabir Mandir Jhiri, Ram Ditta, Suraj Prakash Lambardar, Tara Chand, Kamal Kumar, Dr Rattan, ML Bhagat, Gian Chand and others.
Meanwhile, All J&K Sadguru Kabir Sabha unit Reasi celebrated 624th Kabir Jayanti at Reasi. The function was organised by Kabir Sabha unit Reasi and FC Bhagat, president Kabir Sabha graced the function as chief guest.
He spoke on the teachings of the Sant Kabir and requested the general public to lead a life inspired by the philosophy of Kabir.
Several members- GR Bhagat, Dr Gurdass Ram, Dr Sanjay, Pawan Bhagat, president KS Reasi, Bodh Raj, Surider and others also participated in the function.
