JKMEF deputation meets Dwivedi, discusses demands

JAMMU, June 14: A deputation of Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) led by its president Sushil Sudan met with Manoj K Dwivedi, Principal Secretary, General Administrative Department and Commissioner Secretary Health & Medical Education Department at Civil Secretariat Jammu to discuss pending demands of health employees.
The deputation members apprised Dwivedi that Departmental Promotion Committee (Promotions) of all categories in the Health Department is pending for last 4 years despite repeated representations, deputations, dharna and strikes but nothing has been done so far.
He was informed that many health employees have retired without getting the benefits of promotion and several posts are lying vacant in the Department. He was also apprised that service subordinate recruitment rules SRO-20 file is gathering dust in the office of Secretary-General Administrative Department Civil Secretariat, Jammu for the last four months for the final approval but the administrative department failed to frame rules of promotions.
Another demand of restoration of old pension scheme for all UT employees on the analogy of neighbouring states like Rajasthan was also discussed with Secretary H&ME. They asserted that Jammu & Kashmir employees should be shifted from new pension scheme to old pension scheme and demanded permanent solution of 2211- Head Salary Family Welfare.
Dwivedi listened to the demands of the deputation patiently and assured to solve them as early as possible. Those who were part of the deputation include Kamal Jit Sawhney, Parfulat Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, Shaffkat Hussain, Pawan Singh, Madan Sharma, Nadeem and Sahil Sharma.
