Driver among three arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, June 16: Jhajjar Kotli Police arrested three persons including a driver along with large quantity of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid a naka at Suketar and intercepted a Jammu bound truck bearing registration number PB13BM-8662.
During checking, police team recovered 44.120 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle’s tool box and arrested three persons including the driver.
The arrested persons were identified as Sunil Kumar (Driver), son of Sada Ram of Kullian District Hoshiarpur Punjab, Ravi Kumar, son of Puran Nagar District Hoshiarpur Punjab and Gurjinder Singh, son of Hari Paul Singh of Khurdan Tehsil Dasuya District Hoshiarpur Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 146/2022 under Section 8/15/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
