JAMMU, June 17: The theatre group ‘Natrang’ here today organized a special session on ‘Art of Cartooning’ during its ongoing Summer Theatre Camp-2022 for children.
Chander Shekhar, eminent cartoonist of J&K was the resource person who very lucidly explained the brilliant art of cartooning to the young enthusiasts who could understand that cartooning is not just an expression of fine-arts but requires a sharp intellect and out of box perspective to be impactful.
They could also relate that how this wonderful art supplements in theatre.
Shekhar believes that elegant way to describe the world, cartooning is an art to give a smile on the face of common masses which have seen as ‘Humour with a Pinch of Salt’.
A creative medium to correspond is also a visual semiotics and visual persuasion medium. For him, a cartoon can be simple or complex, and can be drawn in almost any style; but it’s not an exact duplication of reality.
It’s a representation of the artist’s perceptions of the world and every person sees the same thing differently.
