Students protest for Gojri Research Centre

JAMMU, Sept 11: Demanding Gojri Research Centre in Jammu University, members of Gujjar Bakerwal Students’ Welfare Association (GBSWA) today held a strong protest demonstration on the campus.
Led by their State president Talib Hussain, they raised slogans in support of their demand and threatened vigorous agitation if the Research Centre is not opened immediately.
Even as the University Council approved the Centre in 2008, nothing has been done practically to start the same till date, lamented Talib Hussain and recalled that even the incumbent Vice-Chancellor Prof M P S Ishar was also apprised of the issue.
GBSWA also demanded the immediate admission in PG Hostel for the students of Gujjar and Bakerwal community. The building has been hired from January 2013 but admissions are not given to the needy students who are suffering a lot, Talib Hussain added.
Other student leaders who addressed the protest, included Mohd Akram, Tazeem Chowdhary, Aman Sumbaria, Mohammad Azam, Imraan Akram, Mohammad Arif, Mohd Ameen Rabani etc.
