Clerical staff demands removal of pay anomalies

JAMMU, Sept 11:  Clerical cadre employees of  various departments held protest demonstration at the DC office here and demanded removal of pay anomalies  and implementation of  6th Pay Commission in all the remaining PSUs without any delay.
The employees under the banner of Jammu Kashmir Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association led by Ravi Singh Bhau assembled at DC Office complex here today and held demonstration. The Association observed Kaam Chhor Hartal and  raised slogans against the State Government for not honouring its commitment.  They were demanding justice in favour of the cadre and claimed that Government has given another grade to the Patwaris but  the clerical cadre has been ignored.
Sukhbir Singh Sudan, general secretary alleged that employees of clerical cadre were facing discrimination at the hands of Government  and despite assurance and framing of committee for the purpose, nothing has been done in this regard. He pointed out that grave injustice has been meted out to the employees of  this cadre. He stressed upon the Government to immediately issue orders for removal of pay anomalies committed in 5th Pay Commission  and grant the pay scale of 4000-6000 to junior assistants, 4500-7000 to the senior assistants/ steno typists and Rs 5500-9000 to head assistants/ junior stenographers with effect from 1-1-1996 notionally and monetary benefits from 19-2-2003. Mr Singh added that the recommendations for the removal of pay anomalies has been made to the Finance Minister by the Committee framed for the purpose but unfortunately final orders have not been made in this regards for the last over one year.
Anil Mehta, Ravinder Singh (Stat), Ravi Kumar, Bashir Malik, R P Sharma, Manohar Sharma, Vishav Bandhu, Darshan Magotra, Manohar Singh, Sarita Wadhera, Farida Akhtar, J R Sagar, Ravi Razdan, Anita Sharma and others also addressed the workers.
