JAMMU, Sept 11: Kashmiri migrants in a meting held under the chairmanship of Inder Ji Labroo general secretary, Samajwadi Party Minority Forum has accused the Apex Committee of its failure in settling the problems of displaced people from Valley.
The meeting said that the decisions in previous Apex Committee meetings were not implemented later and the Committee was puppet in the hands of Government. It said for last two years the community has been listening regarding enhancement of payment from Rs 7.50 lakh to Rs 20 lakh per migrant family on return but no headway has been made in this regard till date. Besides providing of 100 units of power free at Jagti is also the old decision and there is nothing new. Earlier it was decided by Government to provide free power supply to Jagti and later in Apex Committee meeting the same has been changed. S L Tickoo, Kuldeep Koul, Jawahar Lal and Usha Bhat were among others who attended the meeting.
They alleged that Government has no firm policy on rehabilitation of migrants.
