15 bovine animals rescued from truck, driver arrested

UDHAMPUR, June 18: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani and rescued 15 animals, which were being transported to Kashmir valley.
The bovines were being smuggled in a Truck (HR61A-4815, which was intercepted by a Police party, led by SHO Chenani, Inspector Om Parkash, under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Ahmed Shaafi at Motorshed Naka Point.
On physical checking, 15 bovine animals were found loaded in the truck. Police rescued the animals and arrested the driver, identified as Idnan, son of Hanif, resident of Dhumjheda, Chilkana, Teshil Seharanpur in UP.
Truck was also seized and a case FIR under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Chenani.
The overall drive was conducted under the supervision of SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar.
