REASI, June 19: With the arrest of accused, Police solved a theft case and recovered the cash stolen from purse of a woman at Medical Hall Nai Basti, Reasi.
A case FIR number 149/2022, under section 454/380 IPC was registered in this connection at Police Station Reasi following a written complaint from Rajni Kesar, whose purse containing cash was stolen from the Medical Hall.
Multiple teams of Police Station Reasi were constituted to work out the theft case. After scanning of CCTV footage of the areas, Police team zeroed upon one suspect namely Sonu son of Billa, resident of Punjab Amritsar, presently putting up at Nai Basti, Reasi. He was apprehended and put under sustained interrogation during which he confessed about commission of crime. After the confession, stolen cash was also recovered from his possession.
While sharing the details, SSP Reasi, Amit Gupta said that further investigations were going on to unearth linkages of the accused with other theft cases in the district.
