Govt committed to equitable development: Slathia

JAMMU, Sept 12: Former Minister and MLA, Surjit Singh Slathia, today inaugurated lanes and drains in village Kamore constructed by Rural Development Department with a cost of Rs.10 lakh.
Addressing a public meeting at village Kamore and Chak Bagle, Slathia said that the Coalition Government led by Omar Abdullah is committed to strengthen the infrastructure of the state for which many ambitious projects are being launched. He further said ‘it is the initiative of the Chief Minister to launch various flagship programmes under centre and state funding in every nook and corner of the state”.
He said these programmes have greatly helped generation of employment opportunities for job seeking youth besides providing better road connectivity, safe drinking water, healthcare services and education infrastructure across the state.
Slathia also inspected the ongoing repair works in the flood affected villages like Barota, Kesso, Pakhri, Khanpur and Kaulpur. He instructed the officers to complete these works in a speedy manner so that the damaged power and water supply structures are renovated for convenience of people of the area.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Samba, ACD and senior officers of various departments accompanied the MLA.
