BJP pays glowing tribute to Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee

JAMMU, June 23: Jammu & Kashmir, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) paid glowing tribute to Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee by organizing various programme across the UT to commemorate the Balidan Diwas of late leader and founder president of Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina paid tribute to the great ideologue and garlanded his statue situated at Mookherjee Chowk at Kathua.
General secretary (Org.), Ashok Koul paid tribute to the great leader in Srinagar.
Former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta along with others, paid tribute at party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Former president & former Minister, Sat Sharma along with others paid tribute to the great leader at party office Kachi Chawni and in various programmes held in this connection in Ward 26, 30, 31, 40, 41 etc. in Jammu West district. Click here to watch video

General secretary Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal paid tribute to the great leader on polling booths Kotli and Nandpur in Ramgarh Manal in Samba District.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravinder Raina said Dr Mookherjee sacrificed his life while agitating to end the permit system under which any one leaving or entering the State had to obtain a permit, a practice which did not exist in any other State of the country.
“It was the sacrifice of Dr Mookherjee that Jammu and Kashmir has been fully integrated with rest of the country and it was considered as one of the great step for the national interest”, said Ashok Koul, adding, “He (Dr Mookherjee) never compromised on principles and questioned the provision of separate symbols for this State”.
In his address, Kavinder Gupta said, “People like Mookherjee are very rare and their life serves a source of inspiration for generations to come and as far as BJP is concerned Dr Mookherjee is a source of inspiration for the entire BJP cadre”.
Sat Sharma recalled the sacrifice made by the patriot for the integration of Jammu and Kashmir into the nation. He said that Mookherjee laid down his life opposing the system of having two sets of laws for Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country.
Rich tribute were paid to Dr Mookherjee by senior BJP leader and former Vice Chairman, Pahari Development Board, Kuldeep Raj Gupta at a function held at Rajouri today. Gupta said Dr Mookherjee was a towering leader of the country who laid down his life but did not compromise with his principles. He said he (Dr Mookherjee) broke the permit system by entering J&K State and his death in Srinagar jail is still a mystery.
Gupta said his dream was fulfilled after 70 years by Narendra Modi led Government by annulling the controversial Article 370 and 35 A and fully integrating J&K with country.
Rich tribute were paid to Dr Mookherjee at a function held at Udhampur by party leaders. Party vice president, Pawan Sharma while recalling the role of late leader said had the then Congress Government accepted the suggestion of Dr Mookherjee the situation in Kashmir would have been different today.
