MENDHAR, June 23: Senior National Conference leader and former legislator, Javed Ahmed Rana has strongly criticized the functioning of the BJP regime at the Centre for not showing serious concern towards the burning problems of the common people, especially in J&K where it is running a proxy Govt through Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
Rana stated this while interacting with the members of a delegation from Kalaban-Chhugan here today. The delegation apprised Rana about the discrimination they are facing at the hands of incumbent UT Administration by causing unnecessary delay in the execution of works under ‘Cluster Model Village’ in their Panchayat. They informed that it had been decided to develop Kalaban-Chhugan under the ‘Cluster Model Village’ project but after passing of more than a year not a single development work is visible on ground.
The pointed out that after passage of one year now the concerned department wants to revise the aforesaid plan by adding another village in the same cluster model village scheme which was not initially approved.
The delegation warned the Administration that if the sanctioned development works under ‘Cluster Model Village’ were not commenced in their Panchayat upto June 27, 2022 then they shall have no option other than adopting the path of agitation.
Rana gave a patient hearing to the deputation and termed the demand of the people of Kalaban-Chhugan areas as genuine. He said that it is due to the anti-people policies of the incumbent Govt that people are getting compelled to come on roads to get their basic necessities fulfilled.
NC leader asserted that the concerned Gram Sabha had approved the plan of developing Kalaban-Chhugan villages under the Cluster Model Village as he also attended the aforesaid meeting. He added that Tribal Ministry has already released the funds for the development of this Cluster Model Village and the Administration needs to explain why despite all these developments the work on this significant project has not been started. Rana asked the District Administration to fulfill the demand without any delay.
