Jammu-S’ngr NH restored

JAMMU, June 24: The traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway which remained blocked for three days was restored late this evening.
SSP National Highway, Shabir Malik said that a major portion of highway which was badly damaged due to flood in Tawi and land slides near Dewal bridge in Samroli area of Udhampur was restored at around 9 pm tonight. He said all the stranded light motor vehicles were cleared first and after that Kashmir bound loaded trucks and tankers, carrying essential supplies were allowed to move.
Malik said T-2 Tunnel area near Ramban was also fully cleared today and road between Chenani and Srinagar was made trafficable. He said Batote-Doda-Kishtwar highway has also been restored and tomorrow, Jammu bound stranded heavy vehicles will be cleared from Kashmir and Banihal side. He said Mughal Road was restored yesterday and many Jammu bound vehicles were diverted to that route from Kashmir side today.
