Kathua police seizes 130 duplicate paint buckets at Sanji Morh

KATHUA, June 24: Kathua police during its raid at Krishna Fertilizer Hardware Store near Sanji Morh in Rajbagh area seized 130 duplicate/fake plastic paint buckets costing around lakhs of rupees which were being sold on the name of Brand Asian Paints.
Police said the raid was conducted on the basis of a complaint from the Neelash Kumar, son of Rama Shish Mahutu of D 21 East Vinod Nagar, Delhi regarding certain individuals who were engaged in the manufacture, stocking, printing and selling of spurious products under the name of Asian Paints near Sanji Morh. Acting on the same, a special team was constituted under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal on June 22. The police team of PP Marheen led by PSI Swaran Singh Manhas under the close guidance of SDPO Border, Pankaj Soodan along with agent of Asian Paints (The Intellectual Property Right Enforcement Cell) different hardware shops in the jurisdictional area of Police Station (PS) Rajbagh near Sanji Morh were raided and the duplicate paint was seized from Krishana Fertlizer Hardware Store.
On questioning the owner of the shop namely Krishan Lal, son of Om Parkash of Marheen stated that he purchased all above buckets from Billion Paint Industries Sua Road Industrial Area Ludhiana. Meanwhile all the recovered 130 duplicate/fake paint buckets were seized and on this instant case vide FIR No. 132/2022 U/S 420/IPC, 63/65 Copyright Act has been registered at PS Rajbagh while further investigation was set into probe.
