PK resolves to continue struggle for homeland

NEW DELHI, Sept 13: On the eve of Balidan Divas Panun Kashmir (PK) held a meeting here today to recall the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs including the members of the community and jawans and officers of security forces while fighting Pak sponsored proxy war in J&K.
The participants recalled with horror the events starting from Anantnag riots of 1986 and killing of hundreds members of the community that eventually forced an entire minority Hindus numbering over 3,50,000 into exile lock stock and barrel after being uprooted from their over 5000 year old homeland nourished by their illustrious ancestors.
While holding the successive State and Central governments responsible for their present pathetic conditions (including in Jagti Camp in Jammu) and perpetual state of being in exile even after 23 years, P K activists reiterated their resolve  to garner more public support for realization of separate homeland within the Valley, as envisioned in ‘Margdarshan Resolution’ of 1991.
Panun Kashmir has launched (starting this Balidan Diwas) an ‘education drive to have an intense and meaningful interaction with various intellectuals and activists.
“It said to continue to fight, peacefully, against the injustices meted out to “internally displaced” Pandits and also against the secessionist forces and    to work towards consolidation of positive activities and actions in constructive manner that helps in creating much needed harmony and cohesion within the exiled community.
Ramesh Manvati appealed to all respected community stalwarts, activists and other right thinking people to rise to the occasion in view of the prevailing ground realities, including the recent Kishtwar riots in Jammu region, and join hands in strengthening the legitimate voice for creation of a separate homeland of Panun Kashmir within the valley – the only potent and viable political alternative available to reverse our centuries’ old persecution and genocide.
Meanwhile in its meeting Kashmiri Pandit Conference led by Kundan Kashmiri also resolved to continue struggle for the rights of displaced Pandits from Valley and decided to work shoulder to shoulder with other organizations of the community who are in struggle for last 24 years for the cause of the community.
