JAMMU, June 26: Senior BJP leader and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa of Ward number 69 here today started road blacktopping work in Sector-B of Sainik Colony which will be completed at an approximate cost of over Rs. 20 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion Councillor Randhawa said that blacktopping has been done on most of the roads of her Ward in last three years wherein in the month of March this year, blacktopping worth Rs. 60 lakh was completed in Sector-A and C of the Ward.
She further said that efforts are on to widen the narrow roads and streets in the Ward in due course of time.
“The government under PM Modi is fully sensitive towards public issues and is taking comprehensive measures to provide basic amenities including roads, power and water to the people,” Randhawa maintained urging the people of her Ward to avoid polythene bags and single use plastic and stop throwing garbage and debris in public drains.
She said that the residents should segregate wet and dry garbage at their own level and hand it over to garbage collecting auto-rickshaws.
Ward president, Alkesh Sharma; Randhir Singh, Devender Singh, Sheetal Devi, Shivang Singh, Sunita Choudhary, Santosh, Asha Rani, Harpal Singh, Joginder Sharma, Hari Saran, Sanjogita and others were also present on the occasion.
