Dhar Mahanpur people facing scarcity of food grains

KATHUA, Sept 14: The people in Dhar Mahanpur area are facing scarcity of essential commodities including food grains for last two months as the road linking area to other parts of the region is closed due to land slides at various places.
According to sources the road is closed for last two months due to land slides at Snaan Ghat caused by heavy rains that lashed the area during the early Monsoon this year.
The reports said that people in Dhar Mahanpur and adjoining villages are facing scarcity of essential commodities including food grains, ration, K Oil etc since then which ahs resulted into public outcry.
However the authorities in CAPD as well as SDM Basholi were not apprised of the matter by the TSO concerned that the ration supply is not reaching this far flung area for last two months due to road blockade resulting in disruption in supply.
CAPD Assistant Director, B K Mansotra said that all steps will be taken to send the ration supply to the area. He said the Department was not informed about the scarcity of essential items including ration by concerned TSO.
Meanwhile Executive Engineer R&B said that the road will be through by Monday as the Department is on the job.
He said the seven kilometers of road were affected by land slide which resulted in its blockade.
