JAMMU, June 29: Jhajjar Kotli Police arrested a truck driver and recovered poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AC-1255.
During checking, police team recovered 13.980 kilograms poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the trucker, who was identified as Mohammad Sadiq, son of Abdul Rashid of District Samba.
A case under FIR Number 164/2022 under section 8/15/25 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
