3 yrs imprisonment to accused in attempt to murder case

JAMMU, Sept 14: Principal Sessions Judge Udhampur A K Koul has awarded three years imprisonment and fine of Rs 5000 to one Surinder Singh, who was facing trial in attempt to murder case.
According to the police case, on March 12, 2010 the accused fired upon the victim over a minor dispute leading to injuries on the forehead, face and head of the victim. Accordingly, a case was registered and after completion of investigation challan was presented in the court of law.
After hearing both the sides, Principal Sessions Judge convicted the accused and awarded him simple imprisonment for three years and a fine of Rs 5000 for commission of offence under Section 307 RPC. He was further sentenced to imprisonment for one month for commission of offence under Section 336 RPC.
