DODA, July 1: A notorious bovines’ smuggler has been booked under stringent Public Safety Act.
As per official sources, a notorious bovines’ smuggler namely Mohammad Amin, son of Mohammad Ibrahim of Manjmi Dessa Tehsil Bhagwah has been detained under PSA for his involvement in number of bovine smuggling cases.
He was involved in 7 FIRs registered against him at Police Station Doda for smuggling bovines.
It is to mention here that under ‘Operation Kamdhenu’, Doda Police has launched a special drive against the bovine smugglers and this year 20 cases of bovine smuggling have been registered so far in which 51 persons have been arrested, 5 vehicles involved in transportation of bovine have been seized and 315 bovine animals were rescued.
